The Hurricanes Athletic Club of Boston is a provider of uncompromising sports programs to young adults with ties to Boston's Chinatown community. Basketball and volleyball are the Hurricanes' anchoring venues to which participating members develop athletic skills while social, educational, and professional interaction are developed.

The Hurricanes Athletic Club has an active membership in excess of 90 with an ever-expanding alumni of over 150. The club is dedicated to recruiting and fostering elite level players in volleyball and basketball to compete at the highest level in the traditional and annual national tournaments where college level and elite level amateur players from the U.S. and Canada compete. Along with recruitment of high-level athletes, membership to the Hurricanes also provides an ease of access to its programs and is structured to dynamically create and maintain athletic programs to fit the needs of membership interests. Examples of membership interests have fostered golf, softball, tennis, and roller hockey programs. Additionally, alumni growth enriches the club's membership of young adults and young professionals with access to develop relationships for career guidance and social awareness

The endeavor of the Boston Chinese Freemasons Athletic Club is to organize Chinese youth in the vicinity of Boston in a friendly group, which shall engage in athletics and social activities. Our main purpose, however, is to improve the relationship of our race with that of others.

In Boston’s Chinatown, we have an unrivaled history and reputation - our membership base is comprised of people from all walks of life including: doctors, community leaders, entrepreneurs, lawyers, martial artists, law enforcement, financial services professionals, pharmacists, politicians, small business owners, youth counselors, students and ordinary citizens of the commonwealth.

1948 marks the birth of the Gung Ho Club in Boston, which has persevered through good and bad times to sustain itself as a strong community presence that celebrates and educates Chinese youth. As the oldest Chinese athletic club in Boston, we continue to be the only organization that provides members access to a clubhouse in Chinatown and teaches the art of the Lion dance alongside our athletic programs.
